Jean was born in Liverpool England, emigrated to Canada and started her singing in Vancouver at The Bunk House on Davie St. Her specialty was Irish folk music. She was then joined by her sister Eileen and together they had the privilege of opening for Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, at The Bunk House. They also opened for The Irish Rovers on one occasion. Later on Jean was part of "Ireland's Travelling People" a four piece group that travelled the country playing such venues as The Calgary Stampede with Catherine McKinnon, Edmonton Klondike Days with Ian and Sylvia, The Chateau La Combe Edmonton, The Palliser Hotel Calgary etc. Today Jean plays as part of a duo with Lance Fowler. Jean and Lance have a varied repertoire including Irish and general folk songs, with some country. Together they play many retirement homes plus the odd gig at The Tranzac in Toronto. Bottom line? Jean and Lance just love to sing and play and be around like minded people, whoopee! tra la la.
