As a performer Mitchell Wilson can be difficult to pin down. Drawing comparisons to artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons and John Prine, his music has been referred to as folk, blues, country and roots. With his distinctive and powerful voice accompanied by simple, stripped down guitar and harmonica, Mitchell's sound is steeped in tradition and draws heavily from many of the musical styles which eventually gave birth to modern “popular music”. Performing songs by artists ranging from The Rolling Stones to early folk and blues pioneers and contemporary songwriters, Mitchell's music is immediately timeless but never a throwback, familiar yet never tired.
